As you can see I'm highly skilled at thinking up project names :p haha.

Asked about a build for a friend for audio use and gaming a week or so ago and was given a nice spec by stulid (Cheers bud :)) so placed the order for the friend and set about building him his perfect PC :).

Spec:

- AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
- Asus M4A87TD Evo
- 4GB Patriot G Series DDR3
- XFX HD4850
- Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
- Antec Basiq 550W PSU
- Coolermaster Elite 335 Case

And a pretty lol verification I had while uploading these

Pics are average as only had a point and shoot with me, didn't have access to the DSLR at the time =/.

3D Mark Vantage score is;

P8268

CPU Score: 14567

Graphics Score: 7226

Cheers for the help all :)

Doesn't look a million miles from this

May I ask as to the price for the build ?

Hehe, funny enough I ordered the parts then saw that ad on BT's website (Don't get CustomPC). Price was £543 delivered from OCUK :) (Already had a copy of Win7)

Looks like a good build. Hopefully it should serve your friend well.

Thanks, it's a million miles better than his previous (Pentium 4 and intel integrated) so should be great :).

Looks nice and tidy inside! well done!

Thanks, modular power supply and cable ties do the trick hehe.

Is the 4850 fairly quiet? I'm debating whether to use one in a PC that needs to be quiet-ish.

It is fairly quiet yeah, could only hear it slightly over the case fan when he was playing Just Cause 2, and I assume custom fan profiles can make it a lot quieter too if needed. It's this card btw.

Thanks :).

I would, but the build is for a friend, and with no window and the fact it will most likely be stuffed away, it would be a waste! May sleeve the cables on my own build though if I get some extra cash.

not a bad build at all, i use the elite 330 a lot which is pretty much identical to this 335 inside.
i would add an intake at the front myself, plug the rear fan into the header next to where it says usb 3.0 at the back beside the fan rather than have it go across the board and move the dvd drive down 1 bay and stick any unused cables in the space above it to tidy it up a bit.
i can't really understand why you have so many cables at the rear of the drive bays with the psu being modular, are there a few you don't need that cannot be unplugged from it ?

Thanks, yeah it seems like a very good value case :).

Well I'm getting him to monitor HDD temps and if they get too high I'll be putting an intake in there (Tested the CPU a bit and the temps were good.)

The fan header at the back was pwr_fan and didn't know if that would still do speed control based on temp or not.

Well as I put the optical in the top and the HDD in the bottom (In hindsight I should have put it in the top haha) I had to run 2 SATA strings from the PSU to get it to reach while still being somewhat tidy, so unfortunately that added too the clutter =/.

Cheers for the input :)

i always put the hd in the bottom as you have done and haven't used in modular psu in any of my builds and i usually use the stock rear fan as the intake at the front and have never found it to loud even at full, i try to hide as much as possible in the dvd bays and behind the drive bays, i can show you some pics of builds i have done if you would like and you could see if theres anything that would be of help to you ?

Sweet build and your cable management is way better then mine . Would love to move to a hexacore but i might just go for a quad because there seems to be no jump in games performance

Would be greatly appreciated, cheers mate :).

Haha thanks, modular PSUs + Attacking with cable ties does the trick. Hex's are pointless for games, this is mainly for audio editing and then gaming as a side thing. Was nice loading task manager and seeing 6 graphs though haha.

Smiley - Yeah, can't you whack out a dremel or something and cut yourself some holes for cable management? But hey, for 10 euros it's a bargain!

Brilliant, gives quite a few ideas, cheers bud :). Doubt I'll be able to put any into this build as its with him already, but if I end up needing to add a 120mm intake I shall attack the cables some more hehe.
