So my friend earlier on this year built a pc. Now another wants one. He wants the gigabyte 780 i5haswell. And 16gb ram. Can you finish of this build budget is 1.5k. Needs everything apart from monitor.

Whats the diffrence between the gigabyte and msi motherboard

its difficult to compared motherboards.

Reading some reviews may help.

Gigabyte: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/mainboards/display/gigabyte-ga-z87x-d3h_11.html#sect0

MSI: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2013/07/22/msi-z87-g45-gaming-review/5

To be honest whichever motherboard you choose will be great. a lot of it comes down to the look of the board (petty I know). But that's the only real difference seoerating the two..

I would go gigabyte due to UK rma and I've had gigabyte motherboards before. :)

MSI RMA is handled via the retailer.

I know Idleman, I qualified it by stating that I assume a 670 card would have 10% to 15% less performance than a 680. Meaning that it is reasonable to assume that a 670 sli would be 10% to 15% less performance that of the sli 680 figure illustrated by their graphs.

This 670 sli set up costs effectively £360 and I assume will also pown the single 780 like the 680 sli has in the bench results.

What do you think IM? Will it fly?

An overclocked 670 will match a stock 680. A very well overclocked 670 will outperform a stock 680.
