looking good - keep it up
where is your psu?

i would consider crossfiring with the psu and gfx you have
also the x38 board would do it justice

dont bother with the sound card and get another 4870 ;)

psu is going in in a minute, corsair 750, this was the front panel sound connector, i wasnt sure what one to use, if any :P

and cheers, yer, im thinking about crossfire down the line

but you have to go crossfire
it makes sense lol!
:)

keep those cables tidy though dude - you will get some grief of the boys on here if they see messy internals

would be interesting to see some benchies off you once you get the rig up and running!

how long ago did you buy the q6600? rumour has it that the new ones dont clock well?

i got my q6600 on saturday, came today but that doesnt necessarily mean its new or old i guess

im installing my optical drive and its SATA, never used that before when installing, same for my HD, I can see where im plugging them in but my Optical drive has a spare socket and the other socket is filled, then on my mobo, i have 6 sata ports to fill, where do i put them? its like a small L and a big L and the small L is filled

infact one will be the sata power cable

I love to see a new build going up, hope you enjoy the PC!

Re: front panel connections, use the HD Audio cable.

Stick your RAM in alternate slots as well to take advantage of dual channel.

installing the OS atm, and it came up loading files and then went to a turquoise vista style background, the mouse icon has appeared but nothing else is coming up, is this normal, do i just have to wait a while?

edit: thats it just come up now lol but its taking its time
