I already have waiting a Coolermaster HafX case, Coolermaster silent pro850Watt PSU,2 x Sangsum Spinpoint 1tb Hard drives, LiteOn DVD rewriter and i,m considering a 120GB SSD for operating system. I will use my old graphics card for now but will upgrade later..

Thanks

Id change the RAM to the 1600mhz. No one has seen any benefit for having anything over 1600. Some swear blind that 1333mhz is just as fast.

Save you about £20 :)

This cooler!
This RAM!

And do you need the i7? The i5 is 95% as good, just without HTT which is pointless unless your doing heavy video editing, etc...

Obviously thats my personal oppinion, if you fancy the look of the V8 cooler and the grey heatsinks on the RAM, then thats your choice.

What do you want the PC for if its gaming then an i5 2500k would be more than enough and would save you £77 which can be put towards a graphics card

Hi, its for everything. I will be gaming but also it want to watch use Autocad and do video editing on it and just well everything!

Basically i want to biuld the best i can afford at the moment.

Have i made any glaring mistakes??

Thats strange? The OEM is more money!

Are they better for overclocking or something??

Thats why i am ordering the K series. To Overclock ..

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £169.99
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM £163.99

2500K OEM is cheaper. The Retail and OEM chips are indentical, just packaged and shipped differently so will both overclock the same. It's whether you want to pay £6 for an extra 2 year warranty and to have a spare stock heatsink, which I would personally.

No idea why on the i7 2600K the OEM is more expensive though, but for what you've said you will be using the pc for, an i5 2500k seems more than enough.

If you do a lot of autocad work then stick with the i7-2600k.
You mentioned best for your budget. What is your budget overall? (Also what graphics card do you have?)

I'd recommend this setup, put the money you save towards an SSD (It's worth it)
