What's your budget?

Spending £500 on a 5070 would leave a bad taste in my mouth personally, but if you're glued to Nvidia it's the best you'll get without spending silly money on a 5070ti.

If not:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,366.91 (includes delivery: £7.99)

The 9070XT would obviously be the better choice, but if you're on a tightish budget the extra £20 on the 9070 is a no brainer imo unless you play some seriously Nvidia biased titles.

Better quality PSU, the A850GL isn't terrible, but the A850G is a couple of tiers higher for not much more money.

I've never heard of that particular Jonsbo HSF but it should be fine on a 9800X3D, you can find the Thermalright Peerless Assassin or Phantom Spirit for £30 however.

That motherboard/CPU combo isn't bad but you could probably shave a bit more off with a different selection.

Better NvME, has almost double the TBW of the drive you selected, it's Gen5 too although in honesty that doesn't mean much for gaming.

was 1500 inc ram which is about 200 for 16gb kit or 350 for 32gb kit, would prefer 32gb but that goes well over trying to get a set on the MM.

Half decent M-ATX boards are on the cheaper side at the moment, and if you're only gaming and don't intend to pop in a 9950X3D or something down the line you'll be fine.

Cheaper than your initial build, comes with a 9070XT.

The MSI A-BN Bronze line are budget PSU's and fully wired, but they do review well and would be ample for the build while saving you a fair chunk.

You could also consider the 7500X3D at around £200 if you want to save some more, if gaming at 4K it shouldn't matter much outside of the odd CPU heavy game such as stellaris or WoW etc, the 9070XT is far better suited to that res than a 5070.
