Build for games development course

Keep forgetting to ask. On another note the new AMD R9 295x2 is now out. Obviously it often beats 780Ti in SLi at any res gaming wise but would it also be suitable for development considering the memory bandwidth etc.

It works out cheaper as well and means there wouldn't be any issues with heat in the smaller MATX case.

It gives you options to add watercooling later, another 32gb of RAM and loads of space for SSD's/HDD's.

The case is a personal choice but it will give you the best view of your components.

Thank you for the post. That is certainly an interesting build.

Gives me allot to think about. At the price that comes in at baring in mind I already have a 256GB Samsung Evo SSD so I wouldn't need another SSD yet.

With that in mind this is the build I would be thinking based on your recommendations:

Curlyriff, that case-mobo-cooler combo you've selected may not work, because of the tall heatsink on the motherboard and the limited space at the top of the case, and the thickness of the cooler rad. It may just squeeze in perhaps, or not.

A H100i cooler (and its fans) might be a better bet, for that mobo/case.
 
Not a fan of the RM PSU's myself. Corsair are a bit slack (hit and miss) with their PSU OEM's.

The hale PSU I selected is made by Superflower, so its of stunning quality. :).

Are 2 screens needed at this stage?
 
Oh right ok then. Don't know anything about the psu selected and yeah I have heard that the i series Corsair were hit and miss but not the standard.

As for the screen I currently use two screens at work so am very used to that setup for what I do day to day.

Yeah, the Leadex and The hale (i specced earlier) are more than likely the same PSU (internally) in a different wrapping. :)

I see you picked the H440, any reason why that over the 760T?
 
Clean front bezal
It's black and red which matches the colour scheme of the room it will be in.
It's £60 cheaper

that's about really. I like window on the 760T though.
