so what do you guys think ???

opps my bad ! its been a long day ! lol

Asus M4A78LT-M AMD 760G AM3 Motherboard

as for going for a dual core i am hoping that it will open up to a quad core !

Good stuff what do u think my chance for getting the extra cores are ???

Better than you think, seen more success than failure, but for guaranteed quad core,

£20 more for a 955BE

or a Phenom 840 is £75, but its made on the propus core like a normal a Athlon so actually doesnt have the 6MB of L3 cache like a Phenom is meant to have.

As Stulid says it's more likely than you think. People always assume dual core's based on quad core designs are only binned chips. If that where the case, that's a lot of binned chips and a poor yield of quad cores. The reality is that the majority are simply disabled by the CPU manufacturer as it's cheaper to disable 1 or 2 cores to make dual and tri core chips than start another fabrication process to make chips with just two or three cores on. You have to be pretty unlucky to get one with knackered cores that won't unlock as opposed to lucky to get one that will. If that last bit makes sense.
