Hello All,

I am going to build a new Gaming/3Ds Max system from scratch over the next 4 months (I cant afford it all in 1 shot :P). Below is the components I have considered.

Any feedback or suggestions welcome!

COOLERMASTER CM STORM TROOPER
Intel Core i7 Quad Core i7-4770k
Asus Sabertooth Z87
16GB Kingsont Hyperx Beast Dual-DDR3 (4x4)
3GB Nvidia Geforce GTX 780
1tb WD CAVIAR BLACK
24 x dual layer dvd writer
corsair 750w rm series modular
corsair h100i hydro series
Lan Card
Sound Card
Samsung SSD

You are better off saving all your money and buying it all in one go. You could have components that are faulty and you wouldn't know it for 4 months and then you would have to go through a proper RMA process. If you order it all in one go and find something faulty most places will replace it within a 28 day period.

It's a apart of the motherboard... a board as expensive as the sabertooth is surely going to have some features in! lol

also, although the PSU is good the RM series isn't the best from corsair.. I'd say get another corsair model in the same price range .. e.g AX series to last just as long

sometimes its not as easy or as simple as that. im currently doing one over 6-8 weeks and if op is same as me, and terrible at saving money then spending X amount each week on parts is the easiest way of doing it.

I don't think you need a separate sound card and lan card as said the features will be on the mobo.

You could also maybe save a bit by opting for a cheaper motherboard & as mentioned Id get 2x8 for the ram not 4x4.

All else being equal you're better off buying everything in one go. But if some great deals come along in the mean time, you might as well take advantage of them. Presumably you get free shipping from OcUK anyway.

The motherboard could indeed be cheaper. I do love the looks of the Sabretooth with the thermal armour stuff on, but it is a bit expensive.

Just a suggestion regarding the money situation, why not buy the whole lot in one go with the 6 months buy now pay later? Its interest free so won't cost you any more

ok so I could get that for the price of OCUK or I could get the one I mentioned for (with the better PSU) for £1434.

But I could use the payment option from OCUK which would be great.

will the H100i fit in the case?

Anything wrong with the build I did from OCUK?? any suggestions?
