I need some help with my son's new gaming PC.

It's built and powers on but there is no output to the monitor from the mobo VGA port.

The MSI B350 mobo has error LEDs and two are lit;
1. BOOT - indicates the booting device is not detected or fail.
2. GPU LED - indicates the CPU's iGPU is not detected and you need to install a graphic card.

The boot device (SSD) is currently blank, so I'm kind of expecting that one but the GPU LED is a puzzler. There is a Zotac 1070 card fitted but as a bit of a luddite I have no idea if it should be working at this point.

I only have VGA or HDI monitors, if that makes any difference.

I've just tried it and different LEDs illuminated.

VGA - indicates GPU is not detected or fail.

So now I'm unsure if I read the LEDs correctly first time.
I have put the 1070 back in and booted with and without trying to get to BIOS and only the GPU LED is illuminated.

GPU led means you have no integrated graphics, so it will turn on regardless. So double check all connections, try clearing cmos, boot without harddisk connected with only 1 memory or try memory in different slots. If all fails remove all usb devices and try again, if that fails remove your motherboard from case and try booting again with bare minimum and work your way from there...

You won't get a signal from the mobo VGA port if you are using a Ryzen cpu as they don't have built in graphics. You would need an APU cpu for that. Try with the gpu installed and attach the cable to the gpu port.

Also as mentioned above try with one stick of Ram. I built a Ryzen R3 1200 pc last week and had a similar problem with no signal on the monitor. Removing one stick of ram did the trick. I ended up having to change the ram though as it wouldn't run with both sticks even with the latest bios.

She lives!

I moved the GPU to the other PCIE slot, plugged the monitor in to it and just left it to boot. After a good long while the monitor displayed the no bootable device message. Result.
I now have a very happy son playing Minecraft...:rolleyes:
