Doesn't seem like it's the right cable :) It should be continuous.

but I do know some PSU's don't have the cable and/or don't need it for the motherboard, hopefully someone who knows this problem will reply soon..

I think it's the 4+4 Pin EPS/ATX12V cable

You should check the motherboard guide for the ASUS p6t and see if they need both of them to be plugged in or not...

:S how come the corsair psu i got has 2 diff plugs :S hope osmeone can help or if it will be fine with one plug connected

They both should fit in there, just checked the Corsair website and the only other cable is 6 + 2 for PCI-E gpu's

My Corsair HX520 has a 4-pin plug and an 8-pin plug, but maybe the TX series is different.

It should boot with just the 4 pins connected, but connecting the other 4 will make the power supply to the CPU more robust, especially if you're clocking it.

its hard to see as im using my phone for the pics. But that lead has 4 oval holes. where as teh other had 2 oval and 2 square. and both plugs on the board have 2 square and 2 oval, if u understand me. Im not that great with computer talk :P

yup it was sealed but i just thought u was meant to run both.

And lynchy, both of the cables are not the same layout.
