[Build Log] (case change) Lian Li PC65 to Lian Li PC-7FW (ESCADA)

ok lets get to work, i need some new holes in there for cables, one drill and chisel later, two new blow holes.

Hi there,

Does cutting those holes definitely improve cable management in this case (looking to buy one soon)? How do you find the airflow?

it does to a certain extent, the top round hole i cut was to take the top panel cables (USB, Firewire, mic and headphones)

the second hle i cut (middle one) was to suit my motherboards positon of the 24 pin power cable,

the bottem one was useful for other bits and bobs, but i will say again it is very tight at the back of the motherboard, but with a bit of patients it will be fine.

after finishing the build today (pics soon) i wouldnt change a thing, its a cracking case, and the airflow is fine, my front and back fans are on the controller, running at half speed.

only time i crank them up is for gaming, my GPU sort of dictates the idle temps for cpu, but my temps are 36 C idle, to 45-48 C full load (depending on hot day or not

no cooler or hotter than my previous lian li case ;)

After you cut the blow holes what did you use so the edges of the holes are not sharpe..

i used the old white trim from the previous lian li case, they used to use it on the sharp edges, stuck that on and sprayed it,

as for photos, i will get them up tommorow, i need to get batterys for the camera, but i have got the name badge fitted and stuff, its looking pretty cool actualy.

but ill let you all be the judge of that ;)

very nice m8, love the colours they work really well togeather, can't wait to get my new case so i can start modding, thinking about modding my current case as well.....

anyway great work

Yes, will do. Need to finish off some bits and bobs. I might just post a general build thread when I get it all working. Nothing fancy.
