[Build Log] - Project Big2Small

Looking good. Took me a while to work out the pics and then it clicked that the M/B is lying face up and it's windowed both sides. Very nice but a pain to make look tidy - nowhere to hide! You seem to have done well on that front with the exception of the PCIE power to the GPU. Could you - probably with braided extensions - run those either

  • up the corner of the case, across the roof corner and then down to the card or
  • up from the PSU as they are now but then up the other side of the gfx card and then bend nicely round to the top.
Wouldn't run straight across the window then. Just a thought....depends if you can be bothered really :D

Thank you for the comments :)

This isn't the final product, I'm currently working on making my PSU cables. My PSU is fully modular, so I will be measuring every cable to the exact length and trying to make some nice curves with them to show them off a little. Crimping and sleeving 100ish cables does take a while depending on how much pain your fingers can take each day :D

I haven't got round to cutting any of the PSU cables yet, and I like the idea you suggested about running the cable up the corner and coming directly down! I will have a play with some spare cables I have and see how it looks.

Thanks :D

looking good, them LED'S kick out some light. :)

Yeah they really do. I have them wired to fan headers atm, running at 75% fan speed, so they aren't even at the brightest. They would work very nice in some big builds. I like the way its a solid light due to the being 25ish LEDs per 12".

Yes they are rated on most forums as being good. I'l be using these on my next build as the LEDs im using at the moment have started to die, plus im still waiting for my case to be cut, and still need a few more water cooling bits to get yet.

I have been fairly busy since Match, so only just got round to updating this post. Got some pictures here of where I am at. There are still a few things I needed to finish off, such as the dust filter for the intake, tidy the 24pin motherboard cable and create another custom molex power lead.

Sorry about the shoddy pictures and the dust. I'm working on improving my skills for my next build.
