Build Problems

Since last night my computer will not post, when i turn it on all the fans spin up but no signal to the monitor and the graphics cooler is running on full.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000
Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4
8GB RAM
Gainward golden sample 4850 512mb
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB

any idea whats gone wrong? it's been working fine since december.

could be a PSU failure? not supplying enough juice to the components.

Have you OCed it? If so reset the cmos to defaults and start @ stock and see how you go.

Ill try when i get home, it is overclocked but very slightly 3.1ghz. but i wouldnt think it would be a psu failure if all the fans spin up.

Do a CMOS reset and see how you get on, if that fails try each memory stick individualy.

ive had a psu that could power the fans and everything would appear to work fine but would not post. changed psu and it worked sweet

If there's no signal to the monitor why not try removing the graphics card and using the onboard? Might be a long shot but everything is worth trying, especially if it only takes two minutes.

yeh ill try that aswell when i get home. ive got a second graphics card which ill try aswell.

i thiught it was a graphics problem because of the graphics fan spinning at 100% which is odd.
