Ive just been asked by a mate to build him a system, he has a budget of 1000 but it's unrealistic so i pushed him to 1200, although he wanted to stick lol. He wants the same monitor as i have which is the BenqXL2420T but the other parts i'm unsure of with this budget. He only wants Intel and only wants Nvidia. What do you guys think is best to this price range?

Thanks for them doomedspeed. Yeah Nvidia it has to be with him. So maybe a 670 or something im thinking. Im going to speak to him about maybe upping his budget or changing the monitor.

Edit. Exray ted thanks also mate, this gives me a very good start to getting him exactly what he wants :)

Yeah i did Doom, he won't use AMD. Im the same too, ive always stuck with Nvidia, love the NCP and the drivers. Im speaking with him now, trying to get him to up his budget. He is going from console gaming to Pc, so i told him he should get a system that is decent enough.

Im starting to think hes wanting a lot for the price too mate. Well HT will be usable further down the line, and he wants this to last for him a good few years. I am struggling here to get the system cheaper. If we where to move the budget to 1400, do you think that would make much of a difference?
How is this in comparison to whats out at the moment http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-502-IN

Edit.. Also is this monitor far behind the XL2420T http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-070-BQ&tool=3

Nice one mate, he will me made up. He will have to get a mouse/keyboard and headset too, but ill let him pick when he comes lol. Thanks for all your helps Doom:)

1 last thing, if he wanted an i7 over that i5, which would you choose?

Thanks guys,he is going for the 770 4gb. Not sure yet if he will change to the i7, waiting on him getting here. I will only use corsair when it comes to Ram, aftermarket service is superb and 1600mhz is plenty.
