Build suggestions!

Double Post:

Just estimated it with a A4 piece of paper, and it's almost exactly the length of a sheet of it.

So about 11.5 inches.

Then it will fit.

That's brilliant news. I'll save some money in the meantime then.

You've been a real saviour so far Stulid, but I'm not done with you yet.

I've ordered the Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB and I'm happy with that.

But I'd just like to be sure before I spend some more cash on this new build. Do you think the rest of the parts to the build above are a sound investment? I'm hoping to keep these for a couple of years, I will likely upgrade along the way in terms of new case/hard drives and such.

And this will absolutely run BF3 on fairly high settings on a 1680x1050 resolution without any issues?

Also, is the 2500K easy and safe to OC on air alone? I've also read some reviews on people overclocking the 6950 too, what are your thoughts?

And thanks again for all your help.

Yes, theres nothing faster CPU wise for gaming.

The motherboard does Crossfire, so add a second 6950 in a few years time (buy second hand so its cheap) and get a major boost again in performance, the XFX PSU will manage a pair of them.

Ivybridge is also going to be socket1155, so will be a simple drop in with a BIOS update.

See no reason why it wont, the game hasn't actually been tested yet so it performance is hard to guess.

The stock cooler supplied by Intel will do a comfortable 4GHz, 4.5GHz is easily done with a bigger cooler.

I can do 5GHz+ with a big performance air heatsink (your mileage will vary)- http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2003910

Any good/bad decisions here?

Am not sure what his spec is atm, but whenever I game with him I can hear budgies chirping in the background, so not sure if they are being used as some sort of power source :p
