Build Upgrade - £2500 Budget

Hi all, I previously built my own rig a couple of years ago and now I'm looking to upgrade.

These were the previous parts I purchased;

1 x Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK - Devil's Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU & Motherboard Bundle **£35 Saving**
2 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 WindForce OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-N970WF3OC-4GD)
1 x Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (HX324C11T3K2/16)
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 750W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black
1 x Corsair Hydro H105 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060016-WW )

I have a monitor, mouse + keyboard etc. Just looking to upgrade certain parts of the current rig and was hoping I could get some advice on what I should upgrade based on current components.

No need to replace the PSU, CPU cooler, case or storage in my opinion.

Although to be honest your CPU is still quite capable, so maybe just upgrade the GPU for now. Upgrade 'properly' when Ryzen+ comes out in a few months, or Intel 9th gen sometime later next year.

Just stick a new gpu in there and keep it at that. What is your monitor ?

As suggested I think I'm just going to put a new gpu in there (possibly SLI the 1080TI)

As for the monitor, I currently have Acer XB270HA 27" G-Sync 144Hz Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red

SLI isn't so great anymore, big scaling issues but for loads of money. Is your CPU overclocked?

A single 1080 ti will be easily enough for 1080p 144Hz.

Do you have that other part of gaming immersion, audio reproduction at good level?
With headphones getting to good level doesn't cost much compared to luxury graphics cards and they don't lose usage value.

CPU is still very good when overclocked. Just do the GPU as already mentioned.

With a £2500 budget maybe get yourself a nice 2560 x 1440p G-Sync or 3440 x 1440p G-Sync monitor to make full use of the 1080 ti ?

These are all IPS or AMVA panels of varying prices. The AOC at £599 would be good, or look at some reviews of the others. The HP monitor is pre-order.

Just realised you've got the black edition , that has an upgrade to z370 - gigabytes buy one mobo, get a second free deal
Time must be cutting it close

Think you should be able to jump to z370 Aorus 3 or Ultra

Frees up some cash to save or to lay down in the system

I upgraded to a X34 from a 144 hz 1080p and it's amazing. I'm on a 1080 ti too. Can definitely recommend that route.

Have to agree, the 4790k when overclocked holds up extremely well!!

Ti + Gsync monitor seems to be the wisest use of your funds

Havn't had a great experience with SLI in the past, since then i've only stuck to single card. Often times had strange graphics glitches/flickering textures and things like this that don't happen with SLI disabled, depends on the game of course but my personal recommendation is always go single card.
