I have built most of my rig only need to order a few more parts (hard drive, dvd drive), i decided plugged in everything to see if i can boot into the bios everything happily turn on like my fans the NB, SB and ram we getting warmer.
I couldn't see a image since i need to change my graphics adapter to pci in the bios(don't have onboard) then i noticed my keyboard wasn't turned on tryed 2 usb and 1 ps2 none of them worked.
Other help: I used 1 ram stick and it's not the power supply that's faulty tested it on another machine.

Could it be a faulty Cpu(Brought 2nd hand don't know if it works)?
Motherboard fault?
What other problems could it be or should i wait untill i have a hard drive to try again?

I am using the hardware in my sig.

My first instinct is it's the motherboard but if the CPU is second hand it does raise suspisions. I would try taking the CPU out and seeing if the motherboard gives you some beeps when it is not in.

Is all the other hard ware brand new? Its a long shot but you could try resetting the CMOS.

i took out the cpu it wouldn't boot, put it back in it stars up but the keyboard still doesn't work.
Done CMOS reset, i don't have a speaker for the motherboard so i don't know wht the problem is.

Have you got another PS2 keyboard you could try?
Sounds like the CPU is fine if its trying to boot, sounds more like a knacked PS2 port on the motherboard.

i'd be inclined towards the motherboard. If there was something wrong with the chip, ram etc you'd hear a post beep code (if you've got a speaker connected to your board).

If you've tried your other bits of hardware separately on a different rig and you know they're working fine, the motherboard is the last part in the equation. If you havent tested parts on another rig this should be your first port of call.

Im going to put my money on the CPU, to be honest it could be equally CPU or motherboard. Maybe find someone elses computer that you can test the CPU in.
