My dream machine would be to upgrade my E6600 to a Quad Core, add a second pair of Corsair Dominator 2gb memory, a decent soundcard and a second raptor drive, keep the rest as per my sig.

I was going to build a trader a PC with 2 of these in, but was advised they arent as fast as a Xeon X5355. This was his final spec:

Dell Precision 490 Two Quad Core Intel® Xeon® X5355 CPUs (8 logical cores running at 2.6Ghz per core), 4GB DDR2 667, 2 x 80GB SATA2 drives in RAID 1 array

Speaking of 4GB, OCZ are releasing a 4GB 'Vista' upgrade kit:

If going to Vista, I would have one of these. But for XP use I think it would be overkill and performance would suffer from the higher latency - thoughts?
