you save 300 quid your getting a better pc from overclockers, you build it yourself which is always fun!

not that i have anything against alienware there pretty cool but your just paying for the brand.

rant over!

Thread like this today as well, the different they got was about £1000 O.o.

What you buy with Alienware is the brand name really. Much better for your money if yo buy the hardware and build the PC yourself.

You also got over the top things, you can bring the costs down even lower :p

I don't find Alienware that reliable too... they seem to die early compared to other PCs.

As I said in another thread, from what I've looked at, cost of components to build a pre-built pc is about 2/3rds....

I would say Alienware do have some neat features (facial recognition) as do their cases (vents on top that move) but yeah still not really worth it...

Yep, the Alienware is overpriced and not great quality. Still, it's not targeted at the people who frequent this type of forum and build their own PC. The Alienware customers I see (yes, I work for Dell - sorry) just buy these because they're flashy, pretty painless to buy and you get a mug like me to come out next business day to fix the thing on site when it dies.

Alienware is Dell which stand for Don't Ever Last Long.

build your own then:
1) can change what you want when want to and not void any warrenty
2) gett better warrenty as most components have a minimum of 2 years
3) save some cash!

What's new here? This haso been happening with pcs since the dawn of time? There for people who can't build and want something flashy.your forgetting all the alien ware gump f you get with such a system...
IE all the flashy light software etc etc...

At those prices, for the CPU and Mobo, why not just go for SandyBridge? Also, you could save the IMO unnecessary £17.99 by ditching Norton and going for free alternatives such as MSE and the Windows 7 Firewall.

Personally I've always seen Alienware as severely overpriced and it's just not worth the terrible support you receive from Dell.
