Building a computer for Rendering

Hey there,

My Grandfather has asked me to look around and see what I can do with a £500 budget to replace his current work computer.

He's a photographer and his current Q9600 system isn't doing him any favors with slow rending times and overall bad performance.

He usually goes out and spends £500 on a Quadro GPU, but I'm thinking that he may not need it - seeing how fast standard GPU's are at the moment.

If still looking for a quadro card my friend recently bought a quadro fx 4600 for £60.

He uses it for solidworks and he says it flyes through all of his assemblies.

These cards are a good £1,500 new (not sure why?)

Can i link it? As OCUK don't sell Quadro Cards?

If they sell other stuff what Ocuk sells then usually the answer is no.

Well it's from a place on a popular auction site, so i assume the answer is no. should be easy enough to find.

Crazy isn't it, the whole "workstation" graphics market. It's an 8800GTX with a fancy BIOS
