Hi guys

So, I wanna assemble a PC. But I'm ridiculously illiterate when it comes to technology, so I would like to enlist your help, please.
I have £500 to spend on a sweet, sweet rig. I don't mind going up to £600, but I'd prefer to keep it low.

I'm going to be using it for gaming, I'd love to play things like The Witcher 2 and Skyrim on high quality. I'll also be using it to render 3D work that I'm doing. So the graphics/video card(s) will have to be powerful. And I'd like a good motherboard, to allow for future upgrades. I'm aiming for Intel i5. Hard drives and RAM aren't much of an issue, as they're quite cheap. Probably 1TB and 8GB respectively.

How does this PC look?

Please read the rules regarding competitors

I'd just order the pieces, or the equivalents, and I'd piece it together myself.

Bonus love if you can link me to a site where the item is relatively cheap. I've not looked around the overclock store, is it cheap compared to ******** or ****? I've heard these are the favourites.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers guys!

I'd suggest removing the link in your post as per the rules (no mentioning competitors), though with that said, that company are known for being so poor that I'm sure it can hardly be classed as a competitor to anybody...

I'd not bother basing specifications on a pre-built system, as the end result will be largely different due to the broader range of components and the labour prices etc. I'd list exactly what you need, ie. new keyboard and mouse, display, copy of Windows, etc.

Wow! You got some front, I'll give you that.... :D

I think your best of starting a fresh and asking for a spec, your disregard for forum rules has probably put some people off. £500 will be a little low for Skyrim and Witcher 2 will definately struggle with a £500 PC. I can barely run Witcher 2 on this system on medium.

What screen res? This will dictate what GPU you'll be best with

Rendering is CPU intensive so you're gonna need to shell out for at the very least an i5.

Hard drives are not that cheap atm, prices are still elevated because of shortages from suppliers (floods in thailand...).

As Blue160 said you're asking a lot for £500 mate!
