Building a Laptop

Generally not a good idea. Your best shot at getting close to what you're suggesting is the ability to upgrade RAM and hard drive.

Laptops are not designed to be upgraded in any great way and building them is not like a desktop.

Is there any particular reason you wanted to do this or just to see if you could?

well i have always built my computers from scratch but now cause im working away from home im needing a lappy so i was just wondering if it was possible to build one or at least buy it bare bone and add things to it like gfx cpu mem hd.
really make it my own :)

Not worth the effort, time or money, get a pre made machine.

Desktops are easy to build and repair, laptops are a totally different world and i would not recommended it at all.

Yes you can buy barebones laptops which you add CPU/MEM etc to. However it will ALWAYS work out more expensive than buying a pre-built one. Also things such as the graphics are not up to you, the barebones will come with a motherboard, graphics chip, screen, chassis and touchpad. Keyboard normally needs to be bought seperately as does cpu, memory, hard drive, optical drive, wireless, battery, charger.
