Building a new Machine - Advice

I agree with people earlier, bit silly to buy piece by piece, as by the time you've finished the lot (say £1500 worth) the first items purchased will be previous gen.

The only things I would buy beforehand would be PSU's and cases, as this generally stay the same price, and doesn't matter about previous gen (pay attention to PSU use in the future, ie SLI, capable rails etc)

The Enermax makes a low purr/whisper, this this'll be a gaming machine other parts will be noisier by a fair margin it won't matter. Even for a HTPC the Liberties are fine, if far enough...and at least provide more cooling than the Seasonic (pratically still air due to very low CFM)

Don't worry, abandoned the 'piece-by-piece' idea (though I do already have my X6800 - don't ask). Gonna order the entire thing at once as soon as OC have nForce590 boards.

This will be for everything really - I don't really game too much, but I do like it to be a great gaming machine when I need it - the 7950 is a bit of a bargin compared to ATi's nearest IMO.
Mainly a media machine though. Maybe the GPU is overkill, not really gonna regret it though.
