Hey everyone - I'm new here and looking to build myself a rig to mine crypto - not sure if this si the right place so please delete if this breaks any rules.

I have experience with changing parts in PC's but not built one from scratch before; I am on a budget and want to make sure what I am buying is all compatible.

Are all power supplies compatible with all motherboards etc? I am looking at MSI B450 Pro motherboard, Corsair DDR4 8GB ram, KOLINK KL1000 power supply, Crucial BX 500 SSD. That is as far as I have got - I need a CPU but not sure which one would be best. And apart from a monitor, I think I am all set.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

well you need a graphics card for mining, and if you havnt got one, you wont be able to get one as people like you have bought them all up

If you are set on a b450 motherboard then the cheapest Ryzen cpu for it at OCUK is, I believe, the Ryzen 5 3600. Get an ATX case and a decent ATX psu like the Corsair RMX as it has a long warranty to cope with the long hours of mining.
