First off I'm brand new to these forums so hi!
Hi before I start I want to say that I'm only 15 years old so If I made a dumbass mistake please be nice about it :). So anyway I want to build a gaming pc that'll handle pretty much anything thrown at it and I was wondering whether this was a good rig or if anything needs to be changed for any reason. I'd appreciate any help but I do understand the basics of pc building - I'm not a complete noob ;)... So here's a lists of what the rig will consist of including links and prices-(had to remove links)

Case-£ 100-CoolerMaster HAF 932
CPU-£250- Intel Core i7 3rd gen
CPU Heatsink-£15- Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 Socket 775, 1156, 1155, 1366, AM2, AM3 Heatpipe CPU Cooler
GPU- £200- MSI HD 6970 OC EDITION (includes Deus Ex)
Motherboard- £132- Asus P8Z77-V
HDD- £98 - Hitachi Deskstar 2TB 7200RPM
Card Reader- £8
Bluray Drive- £48- Samsung Blu-Ray Drive
PSU- £88 -Corsair 750W enthusiast
RAM- £40- Corsair Vengeance 8Gb
Keyboard- £30- Logitech g110
Mouse - £35- Logitech G500
Mini displayport to displayport cable- £10
Speakers- £21 - Logitech LS21 2.1
TV Tuner (USB) - £55

Monitor- Currently Undecided but probably between these-
Samsung S23A750D-

OR
Samsung S27A750D (only if it goes on sale at the £250 price point as one reviewer said it had in the past)-

Bluetooth 3.0 Dongle- £15
TOTAL- £1145 (Excluding Monitor)

Is this in your opinion a good rig for the cost or is it overpriced etc.? Any improvements please? And by the way no I'm not spoilt I've just been saving money for a long while now ;)*

Just realise that some of the links didn't work... I'm not too sure why to be honest I copied them properly... Is this due to them linking outside the OCuK store?

So the two monitors I've narrowed it down to seem to have good reviews but can anyone confirm that the s27a750d ha ever gone down to £250??? If so it seems I be the better option. I want to be able to play BF3 and future games in high settings (ultra in battlefield) an will also need to be able to use the computer for HD video editing aswell (due to coursework). So is there any spec that you recommend I change?

What about my choice of graphics card? Can anyone help me decide on whether this setup could run bf3 at ultra settings with a high fps and future games at high settings?

he wants a card reader for 8 pounds and a bt dongle for 15 = 23 quid...why not get a combi for 11.99...isnt it cheaper? ;p well even with the shipping cost, its still cheaper than 23 quid

Good point but the BT dongle im getting is 3.0 ;) but thanks for the help everyone but I just received a free monitor form my dad :) which only has one downside - only one DVI-D port... So basically I need some Sort of a splitter that'll split it into two female DVi-D ports. Any help?

yea definitely get an ssd for boot and apps. 64gb or 128gb...or 256gb if u have $$$ lying about, its probably the biggest upgrade for a computer. and the hdd can be ur media storage drive

I'll probably get an SSD soon but the thing is when I'm gaming surely the ssd won't make a difference as the games would be on the HDD? Doesn't a SSD just speed up boot times and apps on the SSD or am I wrong? Thanks :)

Just my two cents:

Im quite new to the forums and PC's after being off the role for quite a while.
Im sure there are many alternative options, and ive made a bad mistake along the line somewhere.

Either way, this is what I propose and I hope people will change it to make it better for you :)

Thanks a lot that must've taken a while to make but what about an i7 instead of an i5? I will be using the computer for video editing also and therefore an i7 would e a more logical choice, wouldn't it?
