Building gaming rig- need help on specs

I second this. It's luck of the draw though, you may get a good card, or a bad one. Good = Monster overclocks, and i really do mean MONSTER. You can get 7950/GTX 580 proformance outta this card. And with the money saved, get a SSD or just pocket the money for the future.

Just my two cents:

Im quite new to the forums and PC's after being off the role for quite a while.
Im sure there are many alternative options, and ive made a bad mistake along the line somewhere.

Either way, this is what I propose and I hope people will change it to make it better for you :)

Thanks a lot that must've taken a while to make but what about an i7 instead of an i5? I will be using the computer for video editing also and therefore an i7 would e a more logical choice, wouldn't it?

I'm also looking for a new graphics card so can't help you on that

But as others have said, an SSD is a compulsory element in every new pc !!! I updated recently and the difference is bluffing in your everyday use.

@mka

Yes an i7 would be a good choice and it would be quite easy to save money on the things like RAM, cooler and peripherals for it.
