Building my computer what do i need?

Hey

wasn't sure were to post this so i did in here

i am going to be getting my new computer parts soon and just though id ask what recommendation for tools or little tricks for a first time builder!

ive got a anti static strap
will be getting a mat
got some anti static gloves

(not that im scared of static lol)

odv i have a range of screw drivers

anything anyone would recommend?

Best in general hardware.

Also, you don't need any of those things apart from the screw driver.

You will need some components and an OS.
 
Try asking in the hardware section. GD is generally full of crap!

Anyway, what you have should cover it. Pair of needlenose pliers always comes in handy too, plus cable ties.
 
a cross head driver and some cable clips and ties maybes some velcro if you are putting in a ssd somewhere and thats about it.
 
You don't need any anti static equipment. Just be careful when handling components, especially RAM. Hold it by the edges and don't lick it or anything ;)
 
I lick RAM and put it into the board when it's plugged in and turned on while wearing faraday cage underpants connected to one of the molex plugs on the psu when I build computers because I desperately want to kill something by handling it. Seems everyone else has or knows somebody that has killed something just by handling and I feel so left out.
 
Never used any anti static, never had a problem.

I just avoid touching components with other components and do builds on a wood table.

aint killed anything with static either managed to drop a processer into the mobo socket and bent a shed load of pins had to get my creditcard/needle and magnifying glass out to fix it.

Dont forget to lick the psu+connecters
