hi, thought i'd make this thread to check im not making any mistakes before i go spending money.. :)

i have an old pc with a core 2 duo 1.83ghz, 1gb ram, 200gb sata hard drive in a large black tower case.

im aiming to make a compact storage box so i bought this case:

EV Black MATX Cube Case
*2 external 5.25 bays
*1 external 3.5 bay
*1 internal 3.5 bay
*micro atx mobos

and i want it to house one of those 2 5.25 to 3 hot swap sata bays so..

as i understand it ill need to buy a micro atx mobo that supports my processor, hot swap sata and anything i cant think of?

anyone recommend a mobo?

is my processor a socket 775 (or are there other type of core 2 duo how'd you tell)?

is there anything i should now about psu's (will moving the one from the tower be ok)?

anything else i should be asking?

thanks for any help! :D

*edit* woops sorry bout the img

You might want to removed the water marked image from a competitor.

Cant help with the Mobo about hot swapping swapping SATA, never heard of that before.

Your CPU is probably core 775 if its a core 2 duo.

Im not sure about the hot swapping either. But if its just a storage pc a simple motherboard will do. Such as this Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2 NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i Chipset (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard. Thats if its a 775 socket processor, the only 1.83ghz core 2 duo i know tho is the mobile processor T5600 which i think is socket 478 (someone correct me if im wrong here). Its prob best to look at the code on top of the processor to check to see what it is. Or if its still in a working pc download and run CPU-Z which will also tell you.
