My son has decided he wants a gaming tower , ive come home and hes bought all the components required already . Ive been left to build it as he has no idea and im not fully clued up. I just need some pointers to if i have connected things up correctly, correct pins etc or if i have incorrectly installed the directions of fans etc, or if anything is missing ...any help would be appreciated

He has bought a corsair 4000d tower
Rm850x psu
Geoforce rtx 4060 windforce graphics card
Rog strix b550-f motherboard
2 x crucial ddr4 pro 2x16gb
3 x 120mm corsair af120 led fans
1 x Crucial P3 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe Internal SSD - Up to 3500MB/s - CT1000P3SSD801 (Acronis Edition)
Arctic liquid freezer ii240
Amd ryzen5 5600x proccessor

Any help appreciated . I dont wanna turn it on and cause a issue for him.

I will upload pics

I have , ive laid down the basics i think its finished but i just wanted to clarify with people who have knowledge really. Was struglling to get exactly what i needed online . Just after some assurances before i say its finished

Not really im just a little anxious with a couple of things , his liquid cooler i have plugged into " cpu_fan cpu_opt"

Its plugged on the left side which im guessing is "cpu_fan , as the plug next to it is also fan terminal which i have one of his front mounted fans plugged into .

I have his last 2 front mounted fans plugged into " cha_fan2 & cha_fan3

I have his rear case exhaust fan plugged into "cha_fan1"

Ram is as follows
Dimmb1
Dimmb2 = ram installed
Dimma1
Dimma2= ram installed

Thats pretty much everything im aware of that he has

Have you tried to power on the system to see if it boots?

What stage have you got up too that you are not too sure about?
No not powered on yet , just finishing off the cooler , not even sure if he has a operating system , or if its included with the motherboard he purchased

The OS is normally bought on its own and not included with the motherboard.

You can still get the OS installed etc but will need to buy a license key for it at some point

Edit, Just make sure when screwing down the AIO cooler on top of the CPU you go from corner to corner and tighten little at a time to get an even amount of pressure
Brilliant , yeah i did see the video for the mounting of the cooler , ive got a bunch of photos ill try to upload now

question for the room, is this secured properly?

Nothing labelled gpu , got cpu x 3 pcle x2 and a few others , ill post a pic Power supplies https://imgur.com/gallery/869dQ6H

As a newbie it will not let me post anymore on this thread for 24hrs

So i take it the connectors ive forgotten at the top which ed209 said is cpu , and the pcle on the gpu , both run to the power supply.

Also i have 3 x cpu looms , but all of them have 8 pin connectors on both ends

@g6yob - You're not allowed to make multiple accounts on this forum, but you should now be able to post again (or in a couple of hours)

For the CPU connectors, can you check if any of the CPU looms you have are split (i.e. can be separated in to 4+4)?
If so you'll just need to lightly bend the other half out the way.

How are you getting on with the cooler? - Make sure to remove any protective film from the thermal paste (if it's pre-applied) before fitting it, otherwise the CPU will likely get too hot very quickly (but don't worry too much if you missed this and have tried to power on, it should shut itself down before anything gets damaged)!
Yeah i didnt realise....ironically it turned out a few bits was missing from the cooler mounting bits . He ordered another cooler , frostflow 280 which ive just fitted, Just connected everything now , and hes just purchasing windows 11 as we speak and downloading the relevant installation boot up files . What ill do is get a few more completed pics and upload them . Im 90% sure everything is connected as it should be.

Thanks again , so currently just ran the bios , just finishing up windows installation for him , i know nothing really but managed to see all his hardware etc within the menu , fans running at 100% etc . Not sure if theres anything anyone else recommends i do , with regards to setting etc for him

Thank you for your responce @TrojanWhore , no i didnt enable xmp at bios . Wouldnt know where to start lol but i can definately take a look at that today once im back from work. I havent really checked the fans if im honest with you . My main aim was to make sure i didnt fry anything and id built it correctly , which so far seems to working fine .

Off the subject a tad , now my youngest son he's (9) has been going crazy over getting a tower , he plays cod , fifa , call of duty etc but really wants to play games on pc . Ive said id buy him parts over a period of time , starting with a tower . Im after a budget-ish tower that would be sufficient for everything i would need hardware wise , also hes a huge fan of led lighting , the tubing etc . Would you have any recommendations

Enabling XMP (or may be labelled as DOCP) in BIOS should be roughly as detailed in this link (it's a different Asus motherboard for the AM4 platform):

As you can see in the screenshots, the target DRAM frequency (in yellow) will change to the new value, as well as it showing in the Memory frequency drop down box (for the RAM kit you've listed in your OP I think this is 3200MHz)

Regarding the tower for you other son, is it just the case you are looking to buy currently?
I'd normally suggest to wait until you have an idea what hardware you'll be putting in it (mainly the graphics card, motherboard and cooling requirements).

If you can confirm what sort of budget you're looking for (both the case as well as overall system budget!), we'll be able to make some recommendations.

There are plenty of relatively decent budget cases featuring RGB LED lighting (from around £50), if you're talking about glowing tubing on the cooler then that's gonna be custom loop watercooling, which is much more challenging in terms of building and cost.
If you wanted to add a little extra visual flare you can easily do this with coloured braided power extension cables.

As an example, I built a system for a friends kid of similar age during lockdown with the following case and he absolutely loved it (I can find some pics of it if you want but other cases are now available which I think are even better looking!)

I would note however, that you probably wouldn't be able to fit an AIO watercooler in the roof of that very easily (or possibly at all)!
Ohh brillaint ill have a look in bios . That case looks perfect , but id definately would want to fit a aio in there if possible . Budget wise i wouldnt have a clue , i dont wanna go mad , but i would be buying the parts bit by bit ( agreement with son if he wants it on top of all his other xmas gifts lol ), definitely want it to be usable for him but at the same time i can always upgrade hardware if necessary
