To be honest I don't think your choice of hard drive will have a huge impact on your system drive, but if you want the fastest drive you should get the Raptor drives from WD.

They don't come in huge disk sizes but they have the fastest RPM and should make your system boot slightly faster than other drives.

Thanks for the quick reply, yeah im not looking for size really just a quick hd thats big enough for vista and maybe games do you think it would matter if the games were saved to my storage hd instead of the os hard drive ie would the faster hd run the games better than my storage which is a maxtor 160G 7200 rpm.

Ive just looked up that hd on the oc site and found this one Western Digital Raptor 150GB WD1500ADFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB Cache it looks ideal for what i want so i may go for that one.
Is there any others that can match this one or is this about the best there is.

If you've got the cash, and the time, Scsi is your friend - the new 15k5 SAS drives from Seagate are awesome, and the controllers are very good now. A decent array can provide speed and safety! :D
