hi
im going to be building my core 2 duo pc tommorrow. are there any tips that you can give me and also can someone give me a link to a step by step guide to fitting in the proccessor as this is something ive never done before

Theres a nice guide to building a PC here http://tools.corsairmemory.com/systembuild/report.aspx?report_id=78237

Some bullet points you should remember:

* Alway remember to de-static yourself before touching any parts of the hardware such as the motherboard/gfx and especially the CPU. You should fit the powersupply first and plug it in ( earths the whole case ) then touch a metal part of your pc case such as the back to remove static on your body/clothing.

* Never force any components in, VERY gentle. Everything should slot easily enough into place ( CPU especially ). The RAM can be quite a push sometimes and the heatsync.

* Read the manual, especially on first build.

dont matter now.
thanks for the link above. confirmed something i wanted to know

also can someone recommend a psu that would be suitable for overclocking but also cheap.
it has to power the following:
ausu p5n-e
core2duo e4300
2 harddrives
1 dvd writer

oh yeah. graphic card is 7600gs

also would this be future proof because if im paying more then £30 i might as well get one that is or is it that the £70-80 ones are the fututre proof one?

thanks for all the help by the way

With PSUs you do tend to get what you pay for, the Akasa is decent and ought to last for a while but then, as always, it depends on what upgrades you intend to make. If you want to spend £70 then the Corsair HX 520w is a quality PSU and should cope with near enough anything other than high end dual graphics cards with ease (and even then it might be fine). :)
