Hello all!

I am new to overclockers...Great site and prices!

Anyways i wanted personal opinions of what is good or what can be changed in my desired system...

So lets start:::

Mobo- Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3
or Asus P6T SE?

CPU- Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail + World In Conflict PC Game

CPU Cooler-Titan TTC-NK85TZ Fenrir CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775/LGA1366)

VGA- Asus ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Memory- Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel

Case- Antec 1200

PSU- OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Modular Power Supply

Hard Drive-Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM

Others----24inch ViewSonic VX2433wm
Razer Lycosa
Razer Lachesis...

Your opinions please!!!!

i would just get a 1Tb HDD tbh the 750Gb aint a great price

the antec 1200 is a nice but i would rather buy the coolermaster HAF 932 much quieter and about the same airflow:D more importantly more spacious to work in and cheaper

Thanks for that...will consider Coolermaster case...

About the mobo?

Should i go for Asus P6T SE or Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4?

Oh yeah another question about monitors?

Been looking around OcUk for monitors and stopped between a few choices...

Samsung SM2333HD - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-105-SA&groupid=17&catid=1425&subcat=

Samsung T240HD - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-104-SA&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=

ViewSonic vx2433wm - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-072-VS&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=

I am mostly looking for a freeview with TV...Also to plug in my PS2 and maybe later Xbox360...

Please suggest something else if you like but make some opinions about these especially the 2 samsungs i mentioned...

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome!!!:D

P.S any ideas when 5870 cards will come out or the GTx 300 series :p

I'd personally get the SM2333HD if you want to use it for a lot of TV. Having seen it in person it's a very good combi unit, combines the general operation of their larger TVs with a good quality monitor.

Well ok...but will this monitor be good for gaming?

Hi russu, couple of suggestions.

For such a lovely build you might want to invest more in a decent PSU, that OCZ does not use the best components and its generally not great. This one just dropped in price and is awesome. Also, PSUs from Corsair and BE Quiet are generally regarded as excellent and would make a nice contribution to your rig.

I will now give my almost cliche response now - don't get the 24in TN Panel, get the 22in E-IPS instead.

But seriously, If you want to spend that kind of cash on a monitor you want the best image quality possible, the dell 2209wa offers that, even though it is slightly smaller than its 24in TN rivals. Its lovely screen, low response time and low input lag make it a brilliant gaming monitor (and video monitor and photo editing monitor etc). Have a look for some reviews of these monitors including the dell and have a think about what you really want out of you monitor.

The dell 2209wa is on OCUK, but currently out of stock.
