Hi,

I have an interview and assessment session next week with ARUP for a graduate position.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with either the role or with the company as im sure the more information i can get hold of the better it will be for me.

Part of the day is a short technical design problem which i have to discuss in the interview. I also have to do a personality questionnaire and take a piece of coursework with me.

Any general hints and tips would be most welcome as well.

Many Thanks

ARUP are part of the UK Industry Peak Oil Taskforce, meaning they think peak oil will occur in a few years:

Check out the report they co-authored.

That might be the stupidest answer possible to the question.

I am a building services engineer, I'd just make sure you are clued up on low energy design as thats an industry favourite at the moment! Bar that just standard interview stuff, about mannor, presentation etc. Look into the company and what it lists its values as, business plan etc but don't go mental. They will look at
A) Can they stand you
B) Are you technically minded enough

So long as you know your stuff and aren't a jerk, you will be fine :)

I assumed that much was obvious to anyone going for an interview. My point was to show how ARPU are thinking seriously about a low energy future - so mentioning low energy design as you said and efficiency are more likely to be met with success than talking about airport expansion for example.

Shameless Bump for anyone that didn't see my thread and could provide potentially useful information for myself as it would be much appreciated.

many thanks again

Last shout before the big day tomorrow.

My main revision has focussed around HVAC&R Systems if anyone is interested or can help
