Wouldn't a bulb implode? Because inside the bulb it is a lower pressure than the outside air?

IMO, Halogen bulbs should be contained somehow... like if it's in an MR16 fitting, there should be some sort of lens. This would stop the glass escaping when it explodes...

I don't mean to sound like Mr. Health and safety, but I am very careful when using high pressure halogen bulbs, as you could be blinded from the glass in an explosion.
