Bulk texting service using software?

Does anyone have any experiance with sending out bulk text messages using software rather than a mobile?

My boss has asked me to find a way to send out 6000 texts telling guests we are now taking Christmas bookings and i dont intend to do it by mobile!

I have all the numbers in an excel sheet.

Anyone done this before folks?

I know if i google it i will find plenty of sites which offer this kind of service but i always go by recommendations from others if possible.

The organisation I am part of use "The messaging centre" we've never had any problems, we are able to send and receive large amounts of text messages. Its not free though, but is very reasonable.

I've used a company called iTagg in the past, they were pretty good.

I haven't used them for years though, so maybe others have better recommendations. They have a live chat it seems so maybe ask them on Monday.

you can do it from email, so you just add the numbers as an email address and the message in the email. works well, you can do it from an app as well.

Oh so much choice lol!

Do these all allow you to have your name as the sender number? Ie it looks like the message came from "Pizza Hut" instead of a number for example...

Any whats the turn around time normally? Ie if i set up to and pay to send 10,000 will they all go out in seconds or hours?

They provide the backbone for pretty much all UK carriers. Get in touch. Interfaces etc are all online. They have a desktop client that allows bulk texting.
