A car was on full lock, I didn't notice so as I pulled into the spot I must have grazed the tyre. Just so happened that the person was in the car, they got out screaming threatening to key my car.

Anyway, I gave my name, insurance company, and mob number. I drove off because of her screaming it became quite a scene. Had a look at my bumper and there was some tyre rubber but it wiped off and there is no damage whatsoever. Her car was a ****heap and she was pointing at a dent.

Do I have to do anything at all?

Did you just up and leave?
Or did you take pictures and also get their details?
Can you prove there was no damage to her car?

If not I'd be guessing a 50/50 claim against you.

She was making a racket and threatening to key my car I wanted to get out the situation asap.

I'm not trying to avoid blame I was just wondering if because i have no damage if i actually have to do anything. I assume my insurance company will contact me if she contacts them?

They might yeah, but tbh if the only damage to your car was a bit of her tyre...
Did you even hit the other car where she was screaming about a dent?

I'd assume shes going to contact your insurance regardless... contact them first explain what happened, that the only contact point between the cars and that the damage she was yelling about was already there.

however without any details or pictures ya gonna be hard pushed like :(

As far as you are concerned there was no damage as no contact with anything but her type... she was hysterical and threatening so you left.

Deny any claim as fabricated as long as you are sure you didnt do any damage. Demand evidence if they try to process a claim... you parked up and some loonie jumped out of her car and started threatening you !

Sounds like she is just looking for an easy way to get a new car/whiplash claim etc etc

She'll be at home ringing the Compo brigade. Shame you didn't at least get the name of a witness.

That's good then if she was alone. Any chance of any over looking CCTV footage from the lights a petrol station or shop or something ?

Some people are just nutters, my mum reversed into a car in a carpark, probably doing about 3mph and the woman claimed for whiplash for herself and children and got a good pay-out! Mental.

Tesco car park it was.

Problem is, she seemed like a nasty piece of work and she has my name and mobile...

Should I just wait to see if my insurance company phones me?

Jeez there's some nuts about. If she had threatened to key my car I would if calmly informed her if she goes near my car I'll put her into a restraint until the police arrive and take over.

You should be ok hopefully since you have a witness in the car with you and she was alone.

Tesco will have CCTV coverage/footage of the car park. Get down there & speak to the security guard & he'll make you a disc.

Its your word against hers and the four other people she had in her car.

My question though is if I have to bother to do anything. I mean if she claim whiplash and a new bumper do I actually need care so long as I tell my insurance company what happens if they phone me. Surely it's up to my insurance company if they pay out or not?

Also she was in a cross hatch section not a real parking spot.

get the supermarket informed then, I'mn sure a load of them now threaten parking "fines" if you don't park within the lines.

WTF? Have you EVER dealt with a supermarket in this respect?

They won't give anyone a disc of their recordings or even let you look at the footage!
