can someone please expalin to me, how they sent me the wrong bundle build?

i orderd a pre built bundle.,
it came, then got it goin,.,as i boot up, mess apears, cpu not supported by mobo.,.
email them , and they ask me to send mobo back , as they sent the wrong one., wtf.,

that is not acceptable, fair enouigh a new bundle but still then,
but to send a pre built bundle ,with the wrtong parts, is just plain wrong.,

also i get no appolgies or anything.,,.

not a happy first customer tbh., very sad state affairs, when they can not even send me the right parts, in a pre built bundle.,

also they want me to sendback just the mobo , so i have to take cpu out, heatsink off, and reaply termal paste etc etc, when new mobo comes back.,

that was the exacte reason why i ordered it prebuilt.,

Well now you've taken it apart you should know how it all goes back together.

Remember these guys are probably pre-building a hundred or so of these a day at least. OcUK churns out a lot of orders. To make a mistake occasionally isn't the end of the world and is a natural part of being human. But they're nearly always anomalies.

Maybe it was the tone of your message to them about the issue which made for a less than apologetic reply. What exactly did you say to them?

Hmm, I guess, as you haven't stated, it's from OCUK, then it is a bit of a dropped ball by them as their web site states " Once selected our team of technical experts will build your PC for you, ensuring all of your chosen components are compatable." (albeit spelt incorrectly).

I would have thought you could ask to send the whole thing back if that is what you bought. Some people here may prefer to send only one component back though.

Andi.

cheers people, was not me tone lol .,, all i said asked first time, was did they update bios, should i do it?, etc,,as on asus page latest bio, fix support for cpus.
just got mesage back saying, i had to send mobo back.

so i have to pay £12 too for RMA, whats that all about?

yes i do know now how to build one up lol, but that is really not the point,.,
why offer a pre tested built bundle, when they clearly did no do that.

something as simple as getting the right set up,
it seems my 95 watt mobo can not support the 125 wat cpu.

good testing service they got there.

think better i just cancel and get a refund i rek.
give my hard earned money to someone else that takes care in there work.

Doesn't it say this on all the bundles:

Service Package
- Full 12 Month collect and return warranty
- Each specification is assembled from handpicked components for compatibility and stability
- Telephone, web note and forum technical support

I'd ask them to "collect and return" and offer you some sort of compensation (a discount, some games vouchers).

I would decline flat out to be removing the mobo from the PREBUILT machine stating you are not sure about the insides of a PC. Surely they coudl just then turn aroudn and say "bent pins" and decline it.

Wouldn't go anywhere near payign anything towards it mate, their error get them to pickup. You shoudl not be out of pocket in any way for what was THEIR ERROR.

Not only that I would've expected them to at least test that it was working before sending it out.

IF it was OcUK mate get straight into the Customer Service forum

Eh? Read that back to yourself and see if it makes any sense.

Haven't had a problem with OCUK with the few things I've ordered, but I certainly wouldn't be paying 1 penny to send anything back with something that wasn't my fault.

Return should be free, as well as an apology - if you want to leave a positive light on a bad situation it's at least common sense to be polite as a seller. Obviously this depends entirely what employee handles these things, and one employee isn't representative of a whole company but still.

sorry english not good.

i asked them if i should update bios, or if they had done it.
no answer from them on that, just that i should send the mobo back.

yeah a fear of myne is , i send it back , they say something is wrong, and charge me even more money, maybe its what they do on a cheaper bundle, to get money back.

guess will have to ring them tomo.
i do not want any game vouchers , just want pc to be working, also for work reason , can not really afford to have no pc for more than a few days.
any one know the turnaround on rma's?

also , a mate of myne got a i7 bundle 2 weeks ago, and he has had to send that back 3 times in 2 weeks, bsod for him.

I have ordered £1000's of hardware from Overclockers with never a problem but agreed you should not be paying the RMA price.

Phone them up bud and have a chat. They will sort this out I am sure :)

Even more worrying is don't they say they stress test every pre built bundle for 8 hours? Surely they would have known the motherboard and cpu were incompatible if they really did stress test them?

Why You Should Buy This Bundle?
- Prebuilt, overclocked and configured. Just "plug and play"
- 8 Hours stressed tested and quality controlled
- 4GB of Dual Channel DDR3 memory delivers unlimited bandwidth
- Six Core processing performance

Busted

Edit: Stress testing seems to only be with the gaming bundles. What bundle was it you bought?

If its wrong and their fault they should replace/ repair foc, but I've never had an issue with their customer service, always very polite and quick to sort out the issue.

if i where you i would give them a ring and ask to speak to the boss/ acting manger and complain.

try scaring him/her a bit just take about trading standereds (items where not fit for purchese and faule advertisment) im sure they will sort it out then ;)

he purchased it from ocuk.

this is not the place to talk about shop talk.

ring them tomorrow and talk to them politely.

I understand that this is a problem and would like to assist in helping you resolve this issue.

however, we are unable to do anything when you post about an issue on the forums. the main forums are not generally looked at by support staff, it is only on the off chance that I spotted this thread.

It sounds like whatever has happened can be rectified very quickly.

I suggest using one of the correct support channels to contact our team so that they can advise further.

the customer support section of the forums would be a better place to start.

I can see that you have posted in there today. this will be answered when business opens tomorrow.
you also included the webnote replies you got which were not impolite or unhelpful in any way.

give the guys in returns a chance to help you out. there is nothing they can do on a Sunday
