Just got the i7 bundle with the asus evo motherboard and zalman cooler, quick question, the cpu fan cable coming from the cooler has 3 holes but the cpu fan on the board has 4 prongs, does it matter which 3 of 4 i use

right ok, ill leave it to the left side, so why is there 4 prongs mate? there is another thing with this fan called fan mate 2, but i dont want to use that, wont have to will i?

well i will use that thing but i wouldnt know where to put the other cables, another thing the zalman cooler is so large, ive put it facing the back of the case towards the fan of the antec 1200 case. but the cooler covers the first pci express slot to an extent its no usable? theres 3 pci express slots. does it matter which one i use

Sorry mate its this bundle.

1 X Intel Core i7 860 2.80Ghz @ 3.80GHz - Retail
1 X Asus P7P55D Evo Intel P55 Motherboard
1 X Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel
1 X Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet CPU Cooler

The cooler comes with something called fan mate 2, ill have a mess with that tomorrow.

hope ur here still mate, just done the build all looks well. No beeps on boot, only problem is theres no signal getting to my monitor. I have the nvidia 295 in pci slot 1. What can i try now to get that signal mate.

do i have to use the sata cable that came with the board? They are different that the ones im using, but both fit. I dont know what else to try, can someone ring me if i put number up

Can't work out what I'm doing the red memory light is staying on , it won't autotune or boot , all fans are on there is no beep any ideas please

Ok mate, how do i go about doing that, sorry ive never done it, please make it as easy as possible. and couldnt i just put the overclock back on, surely we know near enough what
would need changing and what to. sorry for the slow reply, been waiting for this 10 year old laptop to boot up. Please can you explain in real simple terms, as im never done that.

tried with 1 stick, the red light stayed on, then same with the other. I cant belive im having so little luck with this mate. I paid for them to overclock it pretty much so i dont see whats gone wrong, wouldnt they have realised the memory / cpu where faulty when they overclocked it? whats next to try mate. you got msn? may make it easier to talk.

ok mate, this laptop is awful im using, struggles to do 2 jobs at once, if u install msn add leeemma1 and hopefully ill be able to get it working on this.

right ok, my msn wanted updating so im just doing that, shouldnt be long mate, but when i say this laptop is slow omg you wouldnt belive it haha

The Cmos reset worked a treat :) thanks mate so much. Now though im stuck with the default cpu and memory speeds :( i paid ocuk to overclock my components, so what do you think went wrong. Is there anything i can do from this point? it does look like there overclock has been saved in bios and i think ( but i dont know how to ) its loadable. Even if i was to load that wouldnt i be back where i was , with no booting pc.

Just got windows 7 64 bit on, seems to be working ok, got a few problems. It isnt picking up all of my ram on system information, says 4 gig but only 1.99 gig usable? also it isnt picking up my overclock there either. Have i missed something?
