Burger King - rip off

maybe buy some proper food instead ? 6 quid coul dhave got you some decent enough ingredients from a supermarket which you could have used to rustle up something both tasty and nutritious.

I can't stand it when people post comments like that in threads about fast-food. Even if fast-food is rubbish, how the hell do you expect someone on a lunch break, or just walking about town doing some shopping, to go to the supermarket, buy a load of ingredients and then whip up a meal? I suppose that you're one of those people that like to carry a full set of pans, utensils and a portable stove everywhere are you?

i wouldnt take it so personally. every time i've gone to burger king has been alright. brugers always good and meaty and tasty. chips are nice.

everyone will eventually get a fast food meal that is old or not up to scratch. your responsibility to point it out guys on till so they can make you one up fresh.

I get sent BOGOF vouchers on meals and Whoppers from time to time. It's the only time I go there as they work out at a reasonable price when you get 2 whoppers for the price of one. They are really nice though, much better than McD imo.

Burger King certainly got pricey all of a sudden . £6 for a microwave burger chips and drink when most pubs round here will sell you a microwave burger twice the size , with twice the chips and a pint for the same price

I paid twelve quid for a whopper meal in Oslo last month; people who complain about prices in the UK should try living in Norway and Switzerland for a month, when you get back to Blighty everything seems super cheap!

BK burgers are one of my sins/guilty pleasures.

Don't have it often, once a month but I do enjoy it and unlike McD's I don't feel hungry half hour afterwards.

Sigh... people don't seem to have twigged on yet. ALWAYS order your burger without one small ingredient that you don't care about not getting... then burger is always freshly made. For me that ingredient is gherkin. For other burgers I ask for "only a little sauce". It's almost worth it just to see the eyes roll to the back of the counter-monkeys head. :D

I was with a mate in Gloucester. It was around 8PM so not exactly prime time and not exactly late. He wanted a whopper (or whatever they're called) and the guy got a pre-cooked one out and banged it in the microwave.

My mate then says 'actually if you're microwaving it don't bother' and off we went to KFC which at least cooked the food properly.

I know a bloke who does this, stays in a hotel but goes outside and cooks his dinner from a stove out his boot :D

It's not a 'microwave' burger. We had all this rubbish in the last Burger King thread.

Actually AFAIK they are not passed over a flame at all.
Yes they are. Gas flame.

They are passed through a grill, but they put something on the meat which makes it catch alight, a bit like the small flames you get when you put lamb joints under a grill. Thus why BK always tastes of chemicals.

You do know that that is the fat, right?

I know that, ask for off the menu = made for you.

No tomatoes or just 1 slice of cheese in the bacon double burger.

I sympathise with the sentiment in this thread.

I like Burger King. It is better than McDonalds. The chips are better. The burgers are better. it's just... better.

However, it is at the end of the day still simply fast food and the prices are fast approaching the point at which it isn't worth the bother. A Large XL bacon double cheeseburger meal at my local BK is now £7.

SEVEN POUNDS. For a Burger King. Yea, no thanks.

I only bother when they have vouchers now - which does seem to be ALL THE TIME, fortunately.

No voucher = no buy. 7 quid is just a con for what it is, sadly. It's supposed to be cheap and cheerful, thats the point. If I want to pay almost a tenner you can get a sit down meal in many places for that!

Man has a point, Handmade Burger & Co sells their Classic Burger at £7 and it is nicer in every respect.

Granted that is without a drink or chips.....although there is always a voucher going around to get another burger for £1.

My burger king have the 'serve yourself' drink machine and it has vanilla coke!... and a load more...

Sign up to their email mailing list and they send you the vouchers. You can also just print a shedload out and then have half price burgers all month if you wanted to :D. They dont have a barcode or anything on and I have printed out a few sheets and used them all before now.
