Burglar alarm system

Another vote for Texacom, anything Veritas like will more than suffice.

Nothing fancy, just does what its meant to do with no fuss :)

Currently looking myself and have been quotes for a Riscos or Pyronix. Both seem to get pretty good reviews, but I also see there is a lot of recommendations for the Texacom.

Risco pisco, an absolute heap. The old Gardtec stuff was ok, but the Prosys is dire.
Not used Pyronix kit in years so cannot comment.

Texecom as has been previously mentioned is regarded as very good.

When was the last time you used or looked at the Risco stuff? Apparently it has improved lately but I have seen older comments along the same line as yours.

The Prosys could have not good in that amount of time, it was a bit like the GE ATS and the ATS has never got good, and that is a good 15 years old now ;)

Telecom veritas is generally what I install for most customers, no frills but totally dependable. If they want something a more 'premium' then I install a Honeywell Galaxy...which ultimately does exactly the same thing, just at 2-3x the price.

OK thanks, its the Risco agility I have been quoted for from one company. Pyronix Enforcer from another.

Be careful of the 'monthly renting' alarms, ive heard horror stories that if you want to cancel the 'monitored service' after a year they take the equipment back as you never 'owned it', despite paying £700 (for example) upfront which is an 'installation fee'.

I have a Texecom Premier Elite 24 with bosch blueline pir pet friendly sensors. My garage is connected wireless though Texecom Ricochet mesh network which works really well too and the batteries on these modules are good for 3-5 years.

I have installed the same type of system four times now and its always worked flawlessly. If you add a comIp module you can even log in on your own network to configure the system and remotely arm /disarm it.

I would like to remove my Texecom but dont fancy the noise it will make! It was fitted to house this year before we bought the place. Never been one for a house alarm.

Just break it open and cut all the wires in the box. I just dont see the point in them, everyone ignores them. The day we moved in i broke ours of the wall no one gave me a second look.
