Wife and I are thinking of a trip next year for 3 or 4 nights.

Has anyone been and got any tips they would share?

We will be driving there and back to bring back as much wine as possible.

Beaune is a lovely location. I’ve not really explored the surrounding area that much as tended to use it as a stop off when driving south.

Staying in Beaune tomorrow night on way back from Draguignan, on the way down we stayed in Macon.
Will ask who I'm staying with if they have any suggestions, but I must say south of France is stunning.

I've not been for perhaps 15 years; I'd love to go back. The wines are magnificent.

Visit Pernand-Vergellesses. It's up the hill from Aloxe-Corton and the wines are delicious.

Since you can only bring in 18 litres of wine (each, separately), remember to declare what you bring back to HMRC. You will then have to pay any duties and VAT due. Bringing back wine is expensive! You may find it possible to order wine at the vineyard to be sent to you.

The French police are red-hot on the breathalyser. Make sure you carry plenty of kits. When tasting wine, never swallow and always spit.
