Burning a file in Ubuntu?

Greetings,

How do I burn an avi file, so that it can be played on a standard DVD player?

I know how to do it in Windows XP ( Nero ) but I no longer have that.

Assuming you are using the latest edition of Ubuntu [7.04, Feisty Fawn]

That just burns the file disc. I want it so that it will play as a film.

Also for a GUI theres mandvd and DeVeDe though I havent tried these myself

Sorry. I didn't read the full guide entry. I use that Ubuntu wiki a lot and it usually has the answer

hehe, no problem, I don't know what I would do with out that guide
