As a big Burnout lover at the moment this is fantastic (although somewhat predictable) news :D

Promising the most explosive gameplay yet and a brand new direction in the form of the 'seamless racing battleground of Paradise City', it looks like Burnout 5 will feature no loading and no waiting either, as you'll be able to cruise around your new home and set up races and challenges on the fly
Hmmm... not sure about this... I assume this would be for single player only. I sounds a bit like Test Drive Unlimited. When I say a bit - I mean exactly.

Either way, as long as the multiplayer improves on the brilliance of Revenge, I'll be a happy bunny.

We all know, it's all about the triangles anyway.

C+VG's website always crashes my browser and my whole computer stops responding  It's the only website which does that.

After a hard reboot ......

I wondered if Burnout 5 would be on the last-gen consoles too, seeing as they (particularly the PS2) have such a large installed userbase. At least with it being next-gen only it should be something special, hopefully :)

I hope it has more tracks than Revenge did, which was a bit lacking in overall content compared to Burnout 3 IMO.

It all depends on how its done.

If they're totally revamping the engine then it could open a lot of potential goodness. This "Paradise City" for example, if they allow you to create your own 'challenges' then there's the potential to create a crash event that takes you along Central Boulevard in oncoming traffic which gets smashed into Paradise City Shopping Precinct. If it's similar to GTA, where there's a ruddy-big city to explore then creating a multitide of crash events which can be shared online for others to try.

Could be good, I'm looking forward to it.

No point in a sequel if people take this attitude. May as well just release extra content through Xbox Live.

Yes thats what they "should" do, but it doesn't make them any money.

Do you have ANY idea how dull it is to keep reading the anti-EA posts? Please...please try something new.

Countless EA game rehashes and pseudo sequels have robbed me of the ability to produce new arguements. I will post those comments again next year, only with 07 on the end thus warranting a repost.

They release new Burnout games because it's succesful.
They release new Fifa games because it succesful, squads change, kits change and league change. Repeat this for Madden and NBA.
They release new LotR and C&C games because they are succesful.

If something's succesful, it's stupid not to build on it.

i doubt it

""Burnout 5 is a complete reinvention of the series, built from the ground up for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360," said Criterion boss Alex Ward. "To create truly next-generation gameplay, we needed to create a truly next-generation game, from top to bottom."

sounds to me next-gen only - but you never know

Did I give the impression I thought it might still be released on the last-gen consoles? The story in the opening post makes it clear that it won't be :) Sorry if my post was vague.

In this respect though (and i am not saying you are one of these people) but in this thread everybody is going oo burnout 5 cant wait. But whenever anyone mentions sony on these forums its tends to be 'oh yeah lets bring out MGS x and GTx and FFx. Why do the same laws of popularity not apply there?

If it ain`t broke don`t fix it !

If any game was in such a condition as above EA would release another version anyway and change it (for better or for worse) to make money and sell you another game.

Because this is a predominantly anti-Sony forum? :p

Okay, someone who hates EA explain to me now why you do? Explain why they are a bad company?

Just for your information I was you to describe why you hate EA, not EA Sports or EA Tiburon, actually EA - Electronic Arts, none of it's sister companies.

I never though EA sports or EA Tiburon where actually sister companies, i would say they are child companies and as such a lot of peoples anger and hatred seems to be aimed at the parent company.
I do not hate EA, and wouldnt not buy a game because it is made by EA but i do think they have got too big for there own boots now and tend to release a lot of games with a lot of bugs and dont fix them properly. a lot of people lost any respect they still had for them with the BF2 debacle to name just one. They tend to just buy big licenses and make 'ok' games that attched onto them. They are just all about the benjamin's nothing else really. Like i said though i am not EA and dont really care who makes a game, in the same way i dont care if its paramount etc that release a movie, its the last thing i care about
