Burnout Paradise review by IGN

He did say arguably, it's personal preference really.

Tearing is quite worrying from a 360 perspective, especially with such a fast paced game.

I think 1up are very decent reviewers and are usually very fair, I'm not sure about the triggers comment, arguably better if you prefer the PS3 pad, the majority don't though so not sure why they wrote that.

"Contrary to all of that message-board bellyaching, this new go-anywhere, do-anything approach unequivocally works. No, you can't instantly retry an event after you fail...but ultimately, that's an inconsequential punishment. Since every single intersection in Paradise City boasts a new opportunity for fresh victory, you're never left idling the engine and weighing your options."

So they say the same thing. I can see how many people wouldn't mind, but if you are one of those people who do, it would drive you mad! PGR4 had a similar thing and really annoyed me.

Agreed, makes me wonder about the whole review

The reviewer obviously likes the PS3 pad, some gamers actually like the PS3 pad over the 360 pad.

Don't think he should have put that in as a plus point to the PS3 version though, because its personal preference.

There is now multplat games that are coming out which are marginally superior on the PS3 (as was the case in reverse for over 6 months).

You have to expect the hardcore 360 fans on this forum to start questioning the same review sites they praised for previously stating 360 versions were better :D

I suspect no-one would question the review if it stated the 360 version was better, and no-one is willing to conceded that the reviewer may know better than them, considering the reviewer has played both versions, and people on this forum have played neither :D

I'm questioning the fact he said the PS3 has better triggers, nothing else. I'd still question that statement regardless of which version comes out on top.

In this case the reviewer does not know better than me, so there.

Oh and have some smilies :D :p ;) :(

Yours was not the comment I was questioning, else I would have quoted you. It was just a a general comment regarding how fickle people are with regards to favourite review sites when there is 1 review they disagree with.

Keep the smilies, I am not a big fan of smilies tbh, but feel the need to use them every now and then to differentiate my joke/sarcy comments from my serious comments, obviously not worked this time.

What ******* pad have they been using? The PS3 triggers are the worst on any pad ever. Stupid comment from 1up, bloody idiots.

indeed, the review was intresting, what I took from the review rather than bashing a platform was that I just don't think this Burnout transition of gameplay elements will suit my taste

Well according to some guy who thinks the PS3 triggers are better than the 360 yes its marginally better, but as his opinion seems so far removed from what I feel then his opinion does not hold much weight with me, never really care about reviews as its just one persons opinion and as in this case very often different from mine, since most sites are just putting the same review for both games makes me wonder if they are even bothering to compare or if they are just copying the Sony/Criterion review handout as Sony seem keen on doing :D

Since it was developed on the PS3 by a company with strong Sony ties then I would not be losing sleep about it being marginally better (if it actually is, cause the demo was not.) :)

Were you not one of those who suggested the orange box was deliberately ruined on the PS3 just cause some guy did not like Sony, swings and roundabouts, Live will make the 360 version better for me in any case. And it's certainly not a game that will cause 360 owners to suddenly wish they had a PS3 LOL so not sure why your feeling smug (if it is better, which remains to be seen.)

I am unsure how any of your comments relate to the part of my post you have quoted. I merely stated there are some multiplat games that are marginally better on the PS3 now. You seem to be stating this is not the case for this game by your response? I am not saying why it is better or worse (I ain't played both versions like the reviewer so don't know).

There is no Live specific functionality in this game, all online stuff is done in game without using Live from what I read (only advantage is you can still read your messages etc in game if you care to in the middle of a race, or initiate a voice conversation).

If you ever find the comment by me stating "Were you not one of those who suggested the orange box was deliberately ruined on the PS3 just cause some guy did not like Sony" or words to that effect, I will buy you a ps3 ( you can sell it straightaway and buy a second/third 360 :D ).

Also I never said this game will make 360 owners want to buy a ps3. I am not feeling particularly smug as I own both platforms. I will buy this on the PS3 mainly because I already have the camera for it, so I will get more benefit with the ps3 version as I don't own the vision cam for 360.

So no specific Live functions, but then go on to name 2 built right in to having Live :) oops :D

Come on, be sensible you know what I meant!! (in terms of joining online races etc, assuming it is all the same as the demo I played) :D

Edit: Do you care to comment on the yellow highlighted part of my post ? I am keen to know where to post your new ps3 :)

LOL would rather you donated to charity than inflict me with a PS3 :D (still looking)

I really hope my faith in me not making stupid comments is justified, else this is gonna be a very expensive wager!!!! :p Just reading the comment, it sounds like something stupid a fanboy would say (which I don't consider myself).

I said the PS3 version looked better out of the 2, so I won't and didn't complain about that. However to say the PS3 triggers are better than the Xbox360 triggers makes him an absolute idiot.
