Burnout Paradise Thread

The demo is a bit meh but I'm tempted to pick it up.
Those of you who played the demo before picking up the full game, did you also find the demo a bit pants?

It is.

There is a 'kinda' restart option and has been there since the beginning.

Just stop driving, don't touch anything, and after 3 seconds the event stops.
 
Yeah before the glorious restart option, I had to do it that way but it became a pain during the end of the game since sometimes I had to drive back a long way to activate the same race again.

Yeah I played the demo when Criterion disabled online play so that took most of the fun out. Also if I remember, there was no music in the demo if you weren't in an event so often I was just roaming around to no soundtrack.

I love custom soundtracks in burnout anyways :p

Demo is really pants you have to get this.

Bought it last night and had great fun just finding short cuts etc. Map is huge.

Only gripe is the online bit is a bit hard to fathom since you don't really know what's out there. I played a few races but they don't rank you with similar players so I was playing someone with 750 wins under their belt in my 1st race.

Someone on PS3 version of this sent me a message a few weeks ago as they needed help getting the camera trophy (I have the PSN webcam thing).

I have been enjoying it too recently :)

Had it since i got the xbox (about a year ago) and played it lightly since then, but of late i have been playin it a bit more! Trying to crack through all the races and crash things... find the marked man is a bit tough tho!
 
Someone invited me last night as well. Damn I don't use the PS3 much and I'd just bought the game so if it was me please ignore my bad manners until i get the controls sorted. If I'm playing feel free to invite me to do some challenges. my tag is js71972

How does that work then, it allows anyone who does not have a PS3 webcam to get the trophy?
 
I've got this for 360, got the ultimate box the other week. Currently working my way up for an elite license, 90 wins to go... :p

Anybody got a favourite car?
 
Bought the Ultimate Box last Monday, and absolutely loving it :D

The graphics are superb, the speed and pace of the game is immense, there's so much to do and unlock, and support for the game is great (new cars, new island coming soon) as well as the fluid online experience! I love how you can track your progress online too! Awesome game!

I'm about 40 odd % complete atm, got my A-class license and got 440 gamer points so far. Including the online i've played about 13 hours at present. If anyone wants to Freeburn or do some challenges when i'm online feel free to join or invite me, would like to play a bit more online!

What's everyone's fave car? I've only got 44 cars but atm my fave cars are the Jansen P12 Track Package, Rosselini Tempesta and the Carson Annihilator :)

I was thinking that, there really isn't one overall great car is there? Some race, some jump and some takedown cards better. :)

Granted I like the racing gt400 (500?) whatever it's called. :D
 
I like the way the '25 V16 Revenge/Revenge racer' looks and sounds, it is quite fast but acceleration is a bit underwhelming.
For Stunt Runs I usually pick the Hawker Solo or go with with the P12

I restarted from the beginning so I haven't yet unlocked the Uberschall 8 or Racing WTR which are also great for racing, I think I have ~65 races to go
 
I'm awful at stunt runs, although I did manage to get 996k on one run... wassn't happy. 4k away from that acheivement. I've not unlocked the uberschall yet or WTR.

Was doing all the burning routes, going to go ahead and do the races and what not. The latest I have is the 25 V16. I need to get a good days work at it.

lol you're never bloody on when me and psy are cruisin'! :p Always look to see if we can invite you to do 3 player stuff but you're always offline, or on something else :p
