How anyone can have any affection for Dundee, I'll never know!

i only go back because my family still live there.

i wont be doing anything special, but the Scoff house best have haggis neeps and tatties on tonight, or i'll be kicking off!!!
they are usually pretty good for it, they have had haggis on last 2 years, possibly the only meal i've ever enjoyed out of that pathetic excuse for an scoff house:rolleyes:

My old man lived in Kellas, near Dundee until recently. I always liked Dundee, some of it is a bit iffy, but then isn't everywhere.

Hired a kilt Papa?

I ain't going that far. :p

Can't even drink some single malt as I am having a dry month. :(

She had some tough times when she was younger and had to go and stay with her gran for a while. Ended up going to the Uni there a few years later!

I'm having haggis, neeps and tatties, followed by homemade cranachan. Yum yum. Then I'm going in to work for a nightshift :(

Celebrate Chinese New Year at the same time and make it a Chinese Burns Night!

</shamelessly stolen from Metro>

Haggis is nice when you can get good stuff.
Not doing anything well I got some stuff to make a burger from hell. So probably spend the rest of the night in pain. Habaneros, Cayenne, pickled jalapeños daves insanity sauce.

I just realised that this is actually in fact exactly what I'm doing, albeit out of necessity. I'm flat broke until I get paid on Friday, so I'll be having my old Chinese staple of fried eggs/tomato, but I do still have the end of a bottle of whisky, so that'll follow it down.

I think they may have had something more painful in mind, but hey :p

Load of ***** you're talking here.

I beg to differ. I can only assume you're from Dundee. You've managed to escape, and therefore I don't consider you a horrible person.

If Dundee is a cesspit? What on earth is Glasgow?

Glasgow is a dump, I've acknowledged that many a time in my life and on these very forums. However, it has within it arguably the most friendly people in Scotland, if not the UK. The East coast unfortunately is full of sour faced, rude, unfriendly so and so's.

Wrong. It's an ignorant sweeping statement. Like everywhere it has it's good areas and bad areas, and good people and bad people. Sure it might have a high proportion of bad areas, but I've met a hell of a lot of lovely people from Dundee, and a hell of a lot of horrible people from places that I'm sure you would consider to be far nicer.

Of course I was making a sweeping generalisation. Yes, everywhere has it's good and bad places but it's an apparent fact that Dundee has a large proportion of these. You'll get good and bad people everywhere, and again, based on my experience and others that I've spoken to about this issue, Dundee have an awful lot of scumbags.

I'm not totally anti Dundee, the city centre and shopping areas are surprisingly nice. But the people ruin it.

Maybe me spending my formative years in Aberdeen explains my dislike of Dundee...

I apologise for suggesting that you were from Dundee, my mistake. ;)

Dundee is a cess pit. Horrible place with horrible people.

There are good ways and bad ways of getting a point across. I'm from Perth, which is supposed to be nice, and the proportion of scumbags here seems just the same as Dundee sadly.
