Hi people,
Im off to Florida in December and what they are doing now for a limited time is adding Busch Gardens free on the Flexticket. I've been to Florida a couple of times but never been to Busch Gardens because i've heard its a treck?
Anyways i'm just asking if anyone here has been and is it worth going?
P.S. ill be driving over there in a hire car and staying on I-Drive.
Thanks
John

It was awesome when I went, but I was also 14 at the time. They have a really good zoo thing, lots of good roller coasters, I would probably go again.

When i went it was by far my favourite of the theme parks we went to, only got to universal studios and island of adventure, didnt go disney but its a great day out :)

takes about 2 hours to get there - great park well worth doing

mix of animals and hard rides - animal kingdom meets islands of adventure

Definitely worth the drive if you've already done the Orlando parks.

Yeah Islands of Adventure was that good we went twice last time we went!
Its just that im not exactly panicing about driving over there ive just heard its between 1.5 to 2 hours drive just there and that doesnt sound like a holiday ha ha!

Its awesome and ten times better than anything in Orlando from my experience...

I found the theme parks in Orlando very dirty and dingy and the food very average! Busch Gardens has some great rides too!!

busch gardens is ok, couple of decent rides..but it's not as good as Islands of Adventure.

it definitely isn't as good as IOA - but no other park in the world is in my view

Spiderman alone is worth the entry.

If you are bored of the Orlando parks go to Tampa, if not, it doesn't particularly have anything to raise the bar but it s a very good park.

The driving is pretty hassle free if that's a concern.

Yeah IOA is the greatest theme park ive ever been too!
Spider-Man is just top class, along with the Hulk, Dueling Dragons and even that kiddies Rip Saw (i think its called that - the water slide one where you are not even fastened in).

Its just that weve got 14 days there and we wanted to fit in Magic Kingdom (because we didnt go last time because I went shooting instead) and possibly Epcot. Plus theres the new Aquatica there now too. Just hope its warm enough for the water parks from 7th Dec onwards!

So we are weighing up the option of Busch Gardens while its free!

My favourite theme park in Florida :)
Great if you love roller coasters... Boring if you don't

I hate Roller Coasters and Bush Gardens is far from boring. In fact, I find IOA boring because I don't like rides.

SeaWorld, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove are my top three, in no particular order, but them I love dolphins (except when they try to drown me) and like most of the rest of the animal kingdom too.

Driving is by far the most convenient way of getting from Orlando to Busch Gardens, but if you really don't want to, enquire about the bus from SeaWorld (free on presentation of a park ticket IIRC).

Busch gardens is amazing (and massive!)

There are like 7 big rollercoasters there. you MUST go on Sheikra, ride is amazing (200foot verticle drop ***!) Its the only rollercoaster to actually slightly scare me when it just sits on the edge and you are hanging over before you drop.

I think im swaying towards going now! Especially while its free as well ha ha!

Have any of you lot been to Florida in December?

I found busch gardens the best out of all the parks while visiting orlando (Disney, Universal, Seaworld). Even if it is in Tampa, certainly worth going to, if not just for the rides.

It is good since it has some very 'scary' rides, but it isn't in the same league as islands of adventure in terms of a good 'fun' themepark - scary rides aren't the be all and end all!

Also, prepare for less polish on the park in general than the Disney parks or the Universal ones.

I've been twice and have to say it's the best attraction in the state. For amusement value go to Tidal Wave and watch for people taking photos from the bridge. I swear I saw several camaras and a camcorder get ruined in the time it took to buy a Cherro. Good times.
