Bust HDD ... help.

seems to be spinning bout loading nothing... put it other pc and it reads the first set of files then dies gives no response??

is it possable to remove the disk and put it inanother HDD to get the files i need ?

Pretty sure you'll need a clean room and exactly the same electronics on it.

All depends where the errors are, and or what the problem is. I'd try and do an organised disc scan for errors and bad sectors. You can set this up, by right clicking on drive and clicking on properties then tools. It will do it on restart.

See if that yeilds any results.

A good way i have found is to use backtrack2 (free cd os) to run the pc and access the hd via that and transfer the data onto a usb stick

Has worked for me in the past even when xp was unable to find the drive as it was that trashed. Will take a good while to get all the data off but gets there in the end.
