Just having some cheese and crackers and wondered about the butter i was using. We left it on the side for a yew days about a month ago and it went all runny so we froze it then put it back in the fridge and it was fine again. Ive looked on the sell by date and it says 28th august 07. I looked whats in butter (utterly butterly) and there wasnt anything 'bad' i could see that might make me ill like egg or anything.

Does butter go off?

Also whilst Im on about things that go off, ive left cheese for ages in the fridge before and it went a bit hard on the edges then sort of mouldy. It tasted fine though. My mates dad used to and probably still does keep stilton and other cheeses in a warm cupboard because he used to like it as it would go really strong. Does cheese therefore no go off, so i presume it must be a form of mold anyway?

Mouldy cheese is weird, don't eat it :p

Do eat that butter though, it'll probably be fine.

utterly butterly is not butter
I can't believe it's not.

In much the same way I can't believe how many threads there are asking if stuff is ok to eat or drink. How do you people function if you can't make these decisions yourself?
