helo.. i want to buy one new monitor curve Ultrawide 34-35 size. i want this monitor to have good panel good colors, good refresh rate and g.,syng..

The Alienware is very well regarded and the Dell warranty is worth something. Many others aren't worth anything and you could be without a monitor for days or weeks.

I would choose Dell over Acer for sure if the prices are close. Dell has much better support and a better warranty. Its the same panel used in both monitors.

AW3418DW would be a good choice for games yes, and I'd say it was a better monitor than the Acer. More so if you can find for a good price, as it's been as low as £850 in recent months.

Again though, I expect this to be delayed.

My only concern with this is what panel they end up using. The M350QVR01 panel that has been used in their other 35" monitors was known to be prettty bad for overshoot. This is a new panel I think, given that one maxed out at 120Hz with overclock, but I hope they've got the other issues sorted.
 
He's passionate about his monitor choice and must shout lol. :D

I'm reading all his posts with Apu's voice from the Simpsons in my mind... makes it very entertaining.

In 5 years HDR will be standard and cheaper. But HDR isn't really an OMG moment in games or pc usage in general. For TVs clearly it is.

Monitor technology doesn't evolve quickly. Just buy a monitor that is the size you want, IPS, has the sync tech you want and your done.

Not much more to this.
 
The Alienware has a 3 year warranty as standard, so you would expect to keep using it for 3 years minimum! If you are not in a rush, then wait for the upcoming LG 34GK950G, but my gut feeling is that it will be more expensive and the cost may not be justified over the Dell if you can find it on offer (not long until Black Friday)

I think the Alienware will still be good for GPUs in 3-5 years time. There may be newer panel technology in 5 years time, but I don't know the future!
